"Reflections" Series

For this series, I have used mirrors and their reflections in the landscape in a myriad of ways. In doing so, I have put a twist on what would otherwise be an ordinary landscape photograph. In most of the images, I have inserted a mirror in the landscape by laying it on the ground, propping it up against trees or rocks, sticking it in the ground, behind plants, or within water. In doing so, there is a picture of the landscape that is in front of the camera, as well as a different view reflected in the mirror. In one of the images, the mirror is actually a puddle of water resembling a mirror. In other images, there is no mirror, but instead sunlight reflected on to trees, leaves, or in water from a mirror. Within my work, I am interested in transforming the ordinary world around me. I attempt to create mysterious, subtle, and poetic images that causes the viewer to do a double take.
